The unit uses custom bags that are designed to withstand repeated compression cycles.
The compactor should only be used with Compax Original Bags.
There are several reasons for this requirement:
- Durability: Compax Original Bags are designed to endure multiple compression cycles without tearing, while other bags may not withstand the process.
- Handle Grips: These bags feature handle grips that prevent slippage after compression, even as the bag fills up and the weight increases (up to 3 kg).
- Perfect Fit: Compax Original Bags are tailored specifically for the waste bin, ensuring minimal resource consumption and a seamless fit
Remember, the monthly price of the Compax System™ includes these bags, eliminating any worries about additional costs.

Although the compactor is primarily designed for paper towel waste, it can accommodate other types of waste as well. The vacuum technology compresses light waste items (e.g., paper cups) effectively. However, heavier or more compact waste materials may not be compressed as much, though they won't damage the unit. To maintain optimal performance, users should avoid disposing of significant amounts of liquid in the bin, as this may reduce the unit's efficiency.
At the moment, we only offer one size of the compactors with a waste capacity of 35 litres, where the outer dimensions of the compactor are 38 x 81 x 26 cm. The compactors have been developed to fit most washrooms, even those with little space.
Thanks to the compactor's ability to compress the waste with a ratio of 15:1, the compactor works as an excellent alternative to a significantly larger normal waste compactor.
We offer a selection of stylish colors to suit your preferences and match your surroundings. You can choose from Polar White for a clean, modern look, Smooth Grey for a versatile and contemporary feel, or Space Black for a sleek, sophisticated touch.
We recommend that only paper towels are thrown into the container. Occasionally, other waste will end up in the bag, for example plastic cutlery, coffee cups or containers. The product has been developed to withstand this, but we advise against using the compactor for normal residual waste. The sticker on the compactor should help the user to only throw paper towels into the container.
We recommend that the users of the washrooms where Compax System™ is installed receive sufficient information about routines for waste management, if this is possible.
NB: The compactor is particularly vulnerable to large amounts of liquid in the bag, and we recommend that this be avoided as far as possible. Contact us if there is a suspicion of a technical error due to this.
Based on our experience, there have not yet been any reported problems with odors/smell from the containers as a result of the bags being changed less frequently than in regular waste containers. This despite the fact that several customers only change one bag a month at certain locations.
If you achieve a good degree of sorting and awareness among users of the washroom, and thus only throw paper towels into the container, no odor will develop over time.
If other waste ends up in the container, for example food waste, the cleaner must make ongoing assessments as to whether the bag should be changed or not to avoid any smell from the bag.
The LED light on the compactor can display a number of different colours. These have different meanings, and in the vast majority of cases you do not need to do anything. We recommend watching the following video for a simple tutorial: LED lights.
The container is cleaned regularly like other hygiene items in the washroom. The frequency of cleaning must be assessed based on the traffic for an individual washroom where the container is installed. In the event of visible stains or spillage, clean the container using water.

How to clean the compactor
The compactors are connected to fixed power. Based on thorough assessments, this will be a far more cost-effective and time-saving solution over time, compared to batteries.
In addition, a container draws a maximum of 65W during compression, and due to the low energy consumption, the installation of fixed power is usually very easy to carry out.

The units compress paper towel waste with a ratio of 15:1. This means that you can get approximately 15 times more waste in a single bag before it has to be emptied.
How often the container needs to be emptied depends on the traffic in the washroom and the type of waste solution that was installed before the Compax System™ was put into use.
As a rule of thumb, you can count on having to change the bag 2 times a month if you normally change the bag once a day, and 4 times a month if you change the bag twice a day with a normal waste container.
The compactor always starts a compaction by itself, and there is no need to start it manually. The frequency of the compressions depends on three factors:
- The degree of fullness in the container
- The traffic in the washroom
- The time between each compression
Based on these factors, the unit itself calculates when and how often it should compress the waste. In a normally busy washroom, the units will compress somewhere between 5-20 times a day when there is activity in the building.
The compactor must always be available when there are users in the washroom, so that waste can be thrown into the compactor. To ensure accessibility, the motion sensor is used to register whether there is movement in the room.
If the compactor detects movement, it will end a started compression and make itself available to the user who is potentially throwing away waste. The compactor will shortly after this wait for an available window, and try to compress again when the washroom is free of traffic.
The LED light on the device lights up yellow when the bag needs to be changed. With standard settings, this will happen at approximately 80% filling level. If you find that this does not match your own experiences or observations, contact support.
The measuring distance for the waste sensor can be adjusted, and will be the first measure for implementation if you find that the LED light does not glow yellow when the compactor is completely full.
The compactor will always be open when there are people in the washroom, so that it is available for more waste, even when the compactor is full.
With the help of the motion sensor, the compactors will register movement, and ensure that users of the washroom can always throw the waste in the compactor.
As of today, there is no function that allows the user of the Compax System™ to start a compression themselves. Using the compactor's sensors, a compaction starts automatically based on information from these.
If there is a need, or you wish to start a compression manually, contact support. Compax Solutions works with a simple application that can override the compactor, so that you can compact manually. This is currently not a standard function.
Occasionally there may be a hole in the bag, although this is rare. A hole can occur if other waste than paper towels are thrown into the compactor, for example sharp objects such as plastic cutlery or the like. We have not received feedback that this is a problem on a general level, and although holes in the bag may occur, this will happen very rarely.
If there should be a hole in the bag, the compression will not work optimally, and the compactor will be fill up more quickly. The bag in the compactor is emptied as normal, following the guidance from the LED light on the device.

Compax System™ does not collect personal data. The compactors collect data on the level of waste in the compactor, traffic in the washroom and other technical data for the product's technical functions.
This data will not be able to identify individuals, or collect other personally sensitive data. The data is only used to make Compax System™ operate optimally.
